Ruby Dickson
Ruby Dickson (b. 1996) works and lives in London. Graduated with a BA in Fine Art and Art History at Goldmsiths University of London.
Through her practice, Dickson examines desire and need as a symptom of capitalist society. Working at pace and with intuition the works portray a sense of both urgency and vulnerability.
Interested in finding the simplest expression of feeling, Dickson explores social codes and signifiers by addressing collective and personal experiences of race and class.
Dickson reappropriates pop culture icons and cartoon figures, often incorporating text, to hold the nostalgic and cynical in suspense.
